Healthcare Communication
HCMT 340
Description: Explores health communication as an emerging specialty in the health care field. We foster a broad-based conceptual understanding of health communication and its role in the contemporary U.S. health care system. Students consider the intersection of health and communication, emphasizing evidence-based approaches and ethical frameworks for research and practice. Areas of research include: provider-patient interaction, social support networks, health information and technology systems, medical ethics, health policy, and health promotion.
Prerequisite: TAKE HCMT-210, COMM-130.
