Description: This course provides students with opportunities to explore how children learn. Students will develop lesson plans and a standards-based mini unit. They will connect the theories of Piaget, Vygotsky, Erikson, Dewey, Montessori and Gardner, to the real classroom. The course will focus on learning materials, learning environments, and communicating with children. The students will implement a Service Learning project in a local school or agency during their seven-week internship, a long-term assignment during this course.
