Publication Design II

GDD 305
Description: In this course, the 550-year tradition of publication comes to life. You will learn how to develop design concepts for publications of all types, from small brochures, to complex magazines-and to implement those designs within production-ready digital documents. You will consider various kinds of publications in terms of information architecture, typography, and imagery. This course also explores how principles of publication layout and design apply to emerging publication forms. Emphasis is on design coherence, technical mastery, and an understanding of production details in the print environment. Basic art supplies are required.
