Math and Science for Young Children

Description: Students examine theories, standards, principles, and practices in teaching mathematics and science to young children ages birth to nine. Students develop an integrated math and science curriculum that includes appropriate content, processes, environment and materials, and child-centered choices based on a theoretical understanding of how children learn math and science. The students also apply NCTM standards and principles as they plan and implement math and science activities for children using a play and discovery approach.
