Physical Computing

IXD 320
Description: Do your shoes know how fast you can run? Does your refrigerator send you text messages? In the past decade, as computing devices have become increasingly miniaturized and networked, many of our interactions with computing systems have moved off the desktop (or laptop) and into the world at large. How do we understand, critique and design for such systems? In this course students will work in a media art context, executing creative projects that critically explore this emerging technological landscape.
