Description: Explores the history, major classifications, culture, policies, legislation, and social discrimination of disability and introduces a strengths based model of disability as diversity versus deficit. Students survey the history of services provided to persons living with a disability, major issues and barriers that exist for individuals with differing abilities and strengths based models of practice and advocacy.
