Candian Culture Through Music

Description: Champlain students: Can be used as Core 330 requirement. This course will explore the history and culture of Canada through the medium of music, ranging from the pre-Columbian to the present day, and will encompass numerous musical genres ranging from traditional, classical, through to contemporary Canadian music. It is intended that in addition to classroom/academic study of the music and the culture that produces and consumes it, students will engage and gain experience by attending recitals, concerts, and various gigs around the city throughout the semester.
