Description: This course offers a survey of modern media history through the study of the social and cultural impact of television series from the 1950's to the present. Students explore the portrayal of life on television, the motives of the evolving broadcast industry and how modern culture is reflected in and shaped by programming.

Prerequisite: Complete 60 credits; Open to juniors and seniors or permission of instructor. Open to all majors.
