Digital Forensic Science

Description: Students will acquire a combination of knowledge, skills and abilities including legal knowledge, particular computer and other digital device skills and oral and written forensic reporting abilities needed for successful completion of the Master's Degree. Emphasis is given to the following topics: unique 'digital crime scene' issues, the rules of evidence and specific computer crime laws, digital forensic investigative techniques, best practices and current technologies, and storage device architecture and file system forensicsStudents will acquire a combination of knowledge, skills and abilities including explicit legal knowledge, particular computer and other digital device skills and good oral and written forensic reporting abilities needed for successful completion of the Master's Degree. We cover those areas in an accelerated fashion with emphasis on the following topics: unique 'digital crime scene' issues, the rules of evidence and specific computer crime laws, digital forensic investigative techniques, best practices and current technologies, and storage device architecture and file system forensics.
