Canadian Culture Through Films

Description: This course will help students understand the complexities of Canadian society and its various cultures/identities through the study of film. Specific focus will be paid to Quebecois and Aboriginal perspectives. Film viewings and supplementary readings, as well as site visits and/or guest speakers, will teach students about the fundamental cultural and historical characteristics of Montreal, Quebec and Canada. Students will be expected to actively explore and observe the Montreal milieu.
